Y M C A Boys Camp at Prudence Island Visit
Wednesday a visit to the Y M C A boys camp on Prudence Island was made by Physical Instructor E J Robertson in a naphtha launch. The camp sits on a bluff with two flagpoles and a dining tent, cooking tent, and sleeping tents. The menu impressed, with clam chowder and other fare, and the boys enjoyed tug of war and a high scoring ball game. 21 boys are present and Mosquitoes bothered the sleeping quarters.

Briar 1 Chapter No 1 DAR will loan old relics and colonial articles in Grand Army hall on August 21 and 22. The committee met in Memorial hall Burnside building and finalized plans. Meetings of Fire Companies Prepare for Warren Muster
Hydraulion Engine Hose Co No 1 and King Philip Steam Fire Engine Co No 1 held their regular monthly meetings with strong turnout. Both clubs voted to attend the Warren muster, appointing a committee to arrange travel and logistics. King Philip admitted one new member and received two membership applications, with drills set to begin next week twice weekly until the event.

Town Council weighs sewer and road needs in Bristol
The Bristol Town Council met Tuesday at 2 PM with full attendance. A Sewer Commission letter urged a special town meeting to approve more funds for the Bristol Neck sewer as bids exceeded the $8,000 appropriation. The council authorized a $3,000 draw for the new macadam road work and appointed a committee to negotiate with the State Board of Public Roads. Other actions included sidewalk work, tree limb removals, appointment of constables, loan of D A R items, hiring of $10,000 for current expenses, damages from a fallen tree, liquor license handling, and various road repairs and administrative items.
