Legionnaire Bernard Falco Receives Purple Heart
Bernard Falco of 126 Constitution Street Bristol was awarded the Purple Heart at a Friday American Legion meeting. Falco served in Company 1, 148th Infantry, 78th Division from February 1918, saw action in Meuse Argonne and Belgium, was wounded November 5, 1918, and discharged February 25, 1919. He later married in 1919, has three children, and remains a charter member of Kearney Post No. 6.

In a two league game the Olympians defeated the Ever Readys 6 to 3 as Foxy Marshall held the mound. Sousa struggled in the sixth allowing four runs after loading the bases on walks and hits with Ferreira driving in two and DeLeo scoring on a steal of home. Ferreira homered and Leclerc added a three bagger while Sousa collected three of six hits for the Ever Readys. Attendance was about 4000 with umpires Mancini and Langella.
