Funeral services for Bristol Phoenix editor Farrally
Funeral services were held for Joseph Franklin Farrally editor and owner of the Bristol Phoenix who died at his home 83 State Street after a long illness. The service at St Michael's Church was officiated by Rev Anson B Howard with relatives officials and business leaders attending. Burial followed at North Cemetery. Farrally leaves a wife formerly Mars Grace Jennings two daughters eight grandchildren and a nephew. He had not worked for over a year and was known for World War I public service and civic promotion with the Bristol Chamber of Commerce.

Farrally a Bristol pioneer and WWI historian dies
Longtime Bristol resident and newspaper man Mr Farrally known for Phoenix publications and service in the Food Administration during World War I has died. Born 1861 in Pattsfield Mass he built a career at Berkshire Courier Paget World and later helped run the Phoenix and Bristol newspapers. He served as Bristol Improve ment Association secretary and was a Rhode Island Press Club president. He was active in St Michaels Church and the Rogers Free Library board. He is remembered for philanthropy and community involvement.

Visit by Women’s Relief Corps at Soldiers' Home
Department officers and members visited the Soldiers’ Home on Wednesday afternoon. Home made cake and candy were shared with comrades and an entertainment followed. Mrs Susan Mo Shepie welcomed guests, with remarks by Mrs Nicars Po Curtas, Mrs Gertrude Houghtaling, Mrs oo Ivas J. Ballou and Mrs Mary May. Oldtime songs, readings, a recital, and a song and dance number were performed.
