Captain Benjamin Brayton, Bristol’s eldest steamboat master, died at his High Street home at 5 am after a winter illness. He leaves four daughters, a sister, a brother, and a grandson. funeral next Tuesday at 2 pm with burial in North Cemetery. He was born January 19, 1814 in Fall River.

George Hlery Davis a longtime Bristol resident died last night at his home 15 Lincoln Avenue after a brief illness from malaria fever. He was born December 4 1837 in Warren and was the son of Eldrige G. and Susan E. Davis. He leaves a widow Abbie E. Davis.

Bristol Base Ball Club Seeks Franklin Return for 1904 Season

Regret is voiced that J W Franklin cannot direct Bristol Base Ball Club this season. He has served on the board for years and could guide a strong campaign. Bristols supporters urge Franklin to reconsider as fans look forward to Saturday games on Bristol common. Also note Van Almkirk in demand, likely to pitch for the Arctics, with a Parish League offer, though he may stay in Bristol.
