Easter egg decorating contest winners named
A large turnout at Guiteras Field marked the 18th annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Bristol Recreation Board in mild spring weather. Winners were listed by age group with Cheryl Sousa Eric Beskid Brian Beskid Amy Cabral in 7 and under, Mary Beth Sousa Joseph Cabral Mary Cabral in 8 to 10, and Carol Jerauld Martha Sullivan John Serpa in 11 and up. Judges were Mrs John Harrell Miss Gladys Usher and Mrs Emerson Colwell.

Wardwell Lumber and Aquidneck Building Supplies announce expansion by purchasing Barbora Lumber Co of Westport. The merged firm will be Wardwell's of Westport with William Wardwell Jr to oversee Aquidneck and Westport branches. Walter Machado and John Busse named managers. Works date back to 1835 on Bristol waterfront.

The first of two Babe Ruth tryouts is this Sunday at Guiteras field from 1:30 to 3:30 pm all registrants must attend at least one session The second tryout is Saturday May 5 at Guiteras field from 1:30 to 3:30 pm Registrants are advised attending both sessions benefits them.

League of Women Voters Annual Meeting and Elections
The League of Women Voters held its annual meeting at Guneras House with a luck supper. Gloria Corona was elected president, Penny Goldberg vice president, Sandy Hiss treasurer, and Ruth Sanford, Maryann Alt, and Rose Falugo as directors. Robin Scanlon and Dorothy Rupp serve on the nominating committee. Programs for next year include revenue sharing, schools, the charter, zoning and planning. Beth Connor as financial chairman will assign solicitors for the April 23 to May 15 fund drive.
