Two Town Budgets Filed In Budget Dispute
Democratic councilmen Edward H Holmes and Anthony Rego filed a minority budget of 6,049,156 contrasting with the Republican provisional 6,082,000. The Democrats cut 14,000 from their submission after public inspection and target reduced tax dollars and revenue sharing, while Republicans kept Balzano's plan with shifts to revenue sharing and a 140,800 capital budget. The April 23 public hearing will determine departmental allocations amid sizable differences.
