North Parm Burns Prize Cattle Saved
Clifford McBride owner of the North Farm dairy barn torn by fire early Wednesday plans a temporary roof over remaining walls to shelter about 125 prize Northern Guernsey cows. Firefighters from Bristol, Warren and nearby towns battled the blaze, saving the cows and guiding the staff to safety as the U shaped barn storing sawdust burned. A firefighter suffered a bruised hip. investigations continued into the blaze's origin. Meanwhile Bristol School Committee accepted the resignation of Mrs Theresa Donovan, effective July 1, 1959, after long service in city music education.
