Newly Elected Moose Officers Installed at King Philip Lodge

Newly elected officers of King Philip Lodge 1135 Loyal Order of Moose were installed Sunday afternoon at Eagles Hall Hope Street with visiting officials present. Deputy Supervisor William F. Briggs led the ceremony assisted by Ezra S. Brazee. officers named include Edward E. Le Clerc as Dictator and Philip M. Pivin as Past Dictator. A speech session and refreshments followed, and Barrington Lodge invited members to the next installation.

Fire damages piles near Bristol Neck property

A small refuse fire on Mrs Sarah B Fellows premises on Hope street Bristol Neck spread toward lumber as strong wind hampered containment. Fire crews arrived shortly before 3 PM and District 12 was alerted. The recall came an hour later and damage was not very great.

Rally Day Brings 300 Girl Scouts Together in Bristol

The Girl Scouts of Bristol and Newport Counties gathered at Guiteras Memorial Junior High School for Rally Day with about 300 scouts from Barrington Warren Newport and Portsmouth. Troop contests covered Scoutcraft folklore and singing with prizes and ribbon badges awarded.

Guiteras Junior High Honors Ninety-One Students

Ninety-one pupils at Guiteras Memorial Junior High School received certificates of honor from Principal George J. O'Brien after Friday’s exercises in the school auditorium. The event included sending a certificate to the late James Fusco’s parents. Claudia DeWolf earned top marks with averages between ninety and one hundred percent.
