Blue Cross in Rhode Island Reports Strong Year
The 19th annual Rhode Island Hospital Service Corporation report shows seventy five percent enrollment in Blue Cross, with over 21 million dollars paid for services since inception. Despite a membership dip tied to employment and Medicare, higher benefit plans and rate savings kept finances solid. The organization notes rising income, lower administration costs, and strong employer participation, while warning of higher nurse wages potentially increasing costs in 1958.
