United Brothers Lodge Plans 40th Anniversary Event
At Tuesday's meeting members voted to celebrate the 40th anniversary of United Brothers Lodge and named William M. Gorham Frank M. Dimond James T. Robertson John H. Bailey Jr and Matthew Cahoon to organize. The celebration date will be set soon. On Sunday evening April 24 members will attend divine services at First Baptist Church where Past Grand Rev Alfred S Stowell will deliver the annual sermon.

Vacuum Cleaner wagon burns on highway head of harbor
A Providence based Cleaning Outfit wagon from the Vacuum Cleaner Company was destroyed by fire around 3:45 PM Tuesday on the harbor head highway. Cause unknown but gasoline likely leaked and exploded. The driver escaped, horses unharmed, fire crews arrived too late. outfit valued in the thousands.
