The three member Bristol Sewer Commission, with one Republican dissent, approved raises for George R Fish Harry Gladue and William Head. Fish gains from 1200 to 1350 annually while Head rises from 800 to 850. Gladue notes he has done extra plumbing work free of charge and helped consolidate superintendent duties. records show prior outside labor costs.

The Fall River Men's Glee Club of fifty seven men will give a concert at First Congregational Church Bristol at eight this Sunday evening. Portuguese Independent Band Opens New Bristol Quarters

The Bristol Portuguese- American Independent Band Club unveils its renovated three story building at Wood and Roma streets with a house warming tomorrow night attracting officials and prominent Portuguese circle leaders from Bristol Warren Providence Fall River and New Bedford. A street parade Sunday at 2 pm and a concert featuring Mrs Mary Maciel follow the opening events. The club's building purchased last month from the Sons of Italy for 5000 dollars marks a milestone for a group now over 160 members led by President Joseph Carreira and committee heads Joseph Sousa James Andrade Salvatore Nunes and John C Mello.

Socialites Plan Charity Dinner Dance

Group Inspects WPA Sewing Project in Bristol

State WPA officials led by Frances Fox Gersham inspected the Bristol sewing project during good housekeeping week. The visit aims to pick the best conducted project based on lighting, floor neatness, worker appearance and conduct. Orlando J. Bisbane said the project will be open for public scrutiny during the week of April 17 with town officials invited to visit. Mary J Condron oversees the project in Reynolds School basement.
