New Street Light Schedule Arranged by Bristol Town Council
Bristol officials met with the Budget Commission and Narragansett Electric on Wednesday to approve a reduced street light plan within the 7000 appropriation. The plan cuts lamps from 532 to 431 and eliminates 400 candle power units, keeping the per candle power charge unchanged at 1496 cents. The change awaits ratification by the full Town Council led by President William H. Angevine with Council member John Romano.

Urges Railroad To Correct Conditions At Silver Creek
Harbor Master Samuel C. Wardwell calls on the railroad to clear or replace the outlet under the tracks near Silver Creek to reduce sewer backups during floods. He notes water levels four feet above harbor at high tide and eight feet at low tide, a torrenting flow worsened by rocks at the entrance. Wardwell observed the Hope street tunnel handling water well, while residents along Hope street suffer cellar damage from floodbacks.
