Unusually warm April 7 brings crowds to Mt Hope bridge viewing
The Bristol area tasted summer as the thermometer hit 84 degrees, the warmest April 7 since the Weather Bureau began records. Thousands of visitors drove to view the Mt Hope bridge while crews worked on its cables amid traffic and minor accidents. The day also saw a busy BT A notes session with election of officers and concert preparations for May 2 and 3.

Bristol Council No 379 Kraights of Columbus held a special meeting last evening to confer the second degree on a class of candidates. Tomorrow’s regular meeting plans a smoker social with speakers including the Fire Department chief of Fall River recalling the Feb 2 and 3 1928 disaster. A musical program and collation are planned.
