Boy Injured In Auto Fall On Ferry Road
Seven year old Leroy Panzarelli of 55 Usher Street suffered a probable brain concussion after falling from an automobile operated by Michael DiGiorgio also of 55 Usher Street on Ferry Road. The child, riding on the rear seat, tipped the door and fell to the road, receiving immediate first aid from Dr A F D Angelo before being sent home.

Hope Circle marks 15th anniversary with Washington bicentennial
Hope Circle No 70 Daughters of Isabella observed its 15th founding anniversary and the George Washington bicentennial with a banquet and entertainment in the Knights of Columbus rooms on State street. National vice regent Mrs Caroline B Manning spoke on George Washington’s life, joined by four guests from Hyacinth Circle No 71 New Bedford. The event included a brief charity resume by Regent Mrs Mary Callan and tableaux scenes from Washington’s life staged by members including Nelle Byrnes Finmar Young Eva Burke Marie Pivin May McDonough Anna Knowlton. More than 80 members attended, with state and national colors decorating the hall.

Explosion on Truck Likely Caused by Short Circuit
An explosion in a garage on Bourn Street damaged a fuel oil truck owned by Anthony Mansano and shattered windows in the building. Police say a short circuit sparked the blast as doors opened to admit Emilio Federico and others. no insurance was listed. Fire crews contained the fire after extinguishing the blaze with help from local residents.
