Brimfield Wins Contests in FFA Soil Judging and More

A Brimfield contingent led the way at the FFA soil judging contest taking first place in Section 5. Ten schools with 20 contestants competed with Baghtena limited to four boys. Andrew Hank led the high placement for Brimfield, with Tess Ante mace seventh and Gary Best tenth. Officiating were I. BR. Jordan and Dr Lefure Miller. Also covered: adult farm classes begin December, junior class drama Mother is a Freshman, basketball open at Brimfield with upcoming games, pep club formation, PTA Dad's Night November 20, and American Education Week invites to visit schools.

Henry R Smith 57, operator of the Lone Tree tovers, died at 2 o clock. Funeral services conducted Monday afternoon at Anies church by Dr E W Nye. Reverend Dudley to Speak at Union Church Family Night

Reverend Raymond A. Dudley, a missionary for 24 years in India, will address Union Church on November 18 after the Family Night covered-dish supper in the basement. Supper starts at 6 30, with coffee arranged by the social committee and families invited to bring own tables. Dudley, Yale and Harvard educated, has served in India, Ceylon, and the Near East, and will share experiences from his wide ministry. Visitors will be welcome.

Patricia Ann Bennett and Herman Campen united in marriage at St John’s Lutheran Smithville road in a 7 p.m. Nov. 3 ceremony led by Rev. Waldemar Bartell.
