Obituary notices for Mrs Gertrude Wiley and John Patterson
Mrs Gertrude Wiley widow of Frank P. Wiley died May 19 at her daughter’s home in Boston. Burial was beside her husband in Brimfield cemetery after services at the Snyder home in Peoria. She leaves two daughters and a brother. John Patterson, longtime Emwood resident, died last Saturday at age 84 after a brief illness, having been seen in town the prior Wednesday.

Seniors Honored at Juniors Reception and Commencement Plans
Seniors were entertained by the Juniors at Miss Edna Stenger home with purple and gold decor and an Edison during dinner. Toasts honored both classes, and attendees including Ellwood Kelley and Helen Foster. Commencement exercises are scheduled for Friday June 3 at 8 pm at the Community building with diplomas presented by State Supt Blair.
