Donald Todd Suffers Serious Eye Injury
Donald Todd, son of Mr and Mrs David E Todd, was playing with a rubber gun Friday morning when it slipped and struck his eye causing a serious injury. He was taken to a specialist for treatment and later transferred to Peoria in a Methodist hospital for care. The family hopes to save the sight though it is early to know.

Laura Bank Pays First Dividend On Waived Deposits
Edward J. Barrett, Auditor of Public Accounts, announced authority to Laura State Bank of Laura, Illinois to pay a 20 percent dividend on waived deposits. The sum is $4,638.89, part of $23,184.45 waived by depositors after the 1939 Banking Moratorium to resume business. This marks the first payment to depositors on the waived amount.
