Ekena Boys Rate High In Corn Production Test

Harry Dasgae of 8th place with 108 ushers among 18 high schools and 141 ag students competed in this corn yield test. The Ekena family report a 1326 bushels per acre yield on a two acre pasture plot with no commercial fertilizer, using manure and good seed, sowing two kernels every nineteen weeks as they cultivated the field under Tama silt loam conditions.

Bennett Widow Dies After Prolonged Illness at Proctor

Mrs Herbert Bennett Geldie Bennett, longtime Union Church and Woman's Association member, died Wednesday at Proctor hospital after a two day stay. Funeral held Saturday at UnionGhurey with Rev Loyal Pearce officiating. burial in Swan Lake cemetery. Survived by husband Herbert Kennett and five daughters Patricia Campen, Coleen Schoonever, Deen Dorimng, Geld ana Shirley, all of various Iowa and Illinois towns.
