Attendees included Mildred and Alice Tully, Helen Clark, Carrie Louise and Doris Coon, Barbara Johnson, Margaret Bowman, Elmer Corney, Gerald and Allen Coon, Paul Harding, Eugene Coyle, and Archer Johnson.
Mrs Mary Martin celebrated her 90th birthday on Sunday August 13 with guests including Mr and Mrs C W McFarland and children of Kewanee Mr and Mrs C E McFarland and children also of Kewanee Mr and Mrs Louis Follett and children of Moline Mr and Mrs Vic Cully and Frances of Stark Mr and Mrs F C Harlan Mr and Mrs Roy Whittaker and family.
Brimfield girls beat Princeville 24 to 13 in a slugfest as Brimfield racked up 30 hits off pitchers B Johnson and Waggoner. The Brimfield squad had dropped openings to Princeville 18 4 Toulon 10 Brimfield 1 Catholic Girls 4 Brimfield 2. The home team looks to ride momentum into a game against Toulon today. Also notes weekend trips and family visits across local residents.
Frances Penn is quite ill. Wm. Bittner offers fine cooking apples. Mrs. Earl Miles visited Mrs. Fraak Wickwire. Edwin Smith of La Fayette called on George Martiuf. Fred Martzuf and family visited Martzuf Brothers. Charley Martzluf and family dined with Alvin Collins. Southport kitten ball team split a double header with Elmwood. Elmwood won both games. J R. Clark dined with son C. N. Clark then visited Brimfield to see ill brother John. George Martzluf family attended a reunion of Mrs Martzluf’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Penn. over ninety-nine attendees reported.
Edith Carter spent Friday afternoon with Dorothy Clesson. The Paul Noland family were Thursday evening callers at L A Kelloggs. Mr and Mrs Meira Clesson enjoyed a weekend with relatives in Galesburg. Mr and Mrs Heite and daughter of Hollywood were Wednesday evening dinner guests of Mrs Emily McCoy and Dan. Mrs Heite was formerly Misanomica Smith of Elmwood.
The Greatest Show on Earth Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey celebrate Golden Jubilee with a Delhi Durbar opening spectacle in Peoria on August 29. The production employs over 2,000 people and animals, features fifty elephants in ornate attire, royal guards, a golden Delhi temple, and the exotic Burmese neck-ringed women, a sensational main act amid lavish pageantry.
A family reunion was held at the C W Peter home on Sunday with baskets, dinner, and visiting. Present were the Tuckers, Smiths of Victoria, Wilbur Macy and Robert of Fairfield, Patchy Delber family, Patty Dartene and Jackie Lee Patty of Victoria, and River family of La Fayette, eleven children including six-year-old Robert Porter and three-month-old Jackie Lee Patty.

Neighbors and relatives from Canton and Galesburg visit, attend anniversaries, and share threshing meals. Mrs Emma Pemble returns from Pontiac where she attended the Bentley Catton reunion at Chautauqua park on August 6 with 81 attendees and a cafeteria dinner. The next reunion is planned for Lacon on the first Sunday in August 1934. Reverend L F Cullum preached his 60th anniversary service in Pontiac, and library work proceeds with repairs and new windows, aiming for occupancy soon.
Merle Cacter of Stanofind Pipe Line Co at Viota spent Sunday with home folks. Brimfield callers included Mr and Mrs Wilbur Symmonds Mrs Mary Miller and Mrs May Emery on Saturday night. Ira Baldwin and Tom Miller families enjoyed a picnic at Glen Oak Park in Peoria on Sunday. The kitten ball team from Oak Grove played Laura here Sunday with Laura winning two games and Oak Grove one.
