Bridgetown Seeks Second Bulldozer for District

Bridgetown farmers may gain a second bulldozer as Government support backs the Bridge town Road Board plan. W A Agricultural Department official K W Simes says the move will aid Britain by boosting food production and land development. The Public Works Department envisages a bulldozer for the Catterick area, with costs around 33 shillings per hour to farmers who provide transport and accommodation for the driver. If hardship is proven, the Fuel Board may raise the aid through the Local Liquid Fuel Committee.

He notes road vehicle operators, including essential users, have faced reductions while farm machinery saw a 10 percent cut.
