Labor Federation Condemns Bolshevism and Proftieering At Annual Convention
The American Federation of Labor executive council reported in Montreal on June 7 denouncing Bolshevism and profiteering, condemning the Cummings railroad law and Kansas industrial relations court, and criticizing Congress and the Justice Department for anti labor actions. It urged government action to curb profiteering, boost co operation, expand credit to cooperatives, and fix living costs while preserving wage levels. The report endorsed worker control in industry, warned against company unions, and urged mobilizing labor to defeat anti labor political campaigns. It warned of price pressures, called for permanent anti profiteering boards, tax reallocation to retire debt, and emphasized democratic industry managed by workers.

Liquor Ban Declared at Yale Reunion Headquarters
New Haven June 7 representatives of Yale reunion classes announced no liquor will be served at class headquarters this year. Leading attorneys for each class sought a loophole in the Volstead act to permit drinks in tents behind class homes. Tents on campus that housed kegs for graduates will be dispensed with. Several classes reportedly held secret ballots in 1919 on stocking liquor, with funds forbidden and committees appointed to purchase alcohol.
