Bar Association Seeks Inauguration Date Change
The American Bar Association convention in St Louis hears a report from its Special Committee on the Change in Date of the Presidential Inauguration. It urges shortening the post election period and eliminating the short term of the old Congress. It backs March 4 as the constitutional date and warns the delay harms government prestige at home and abroad. The three month post election Congress is deemed unsatisfactory and rife with partisan activity.
