New York April 3 a general embargo on export freight through New York was ordered by railroads due to harbor strike disruption. Permits to resume exports are uncertain as traffic control reports continued harbor curtailment. Union officials warned the harbor could shut down before nightfall despite some lines operating nearly normally.
Reports from Nogales and Mazatlan describe large numbers of troops mobilizing along the southern Pacific railway of Mexico. No official explanation given. General Calles directs the presidential campaign in Sonora and accuses Carranza forces of planning to seize Sonora and depose Governor Dela Huerta.
London reports armed troops on 211 roads to Londonderry last night with minutely searched motor cars and permits required. Central News despatch from Dublin ties activity to Easter uprising rumors. In Dublin suburbs troops with armored cars positioned outside city boundaries and hay carts and tramway passengers from Lucan were searched. Belfast notes patrols near Londonderry and disturbances among Sinn Fein prisoners, with Dundalk also under special patrols.
Chicago dispatch reports a freight tieup as 1000 switchmen strike halting operations on the Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul line amid wage demands. In Europe, Dutch-sourced news says German troops push along the Ruhr front driving Reds from Recklinghausen to Hamborn and asserting weak Red resistance with officers largely German.
Charity department figures by Superintendent Angus P Thorne show that for the year ending March 31 1819 Hillside treated 185 male and 29 female alcoholic cases. The year ending March 31 this year lists 61 male and 9 female cases a total of 70 a decrease of 144. Costs dropped from about 33000 to roughly 1000. Thorne says finding male staff is especially scarce at Hillside noting he cannot even secure a decent cook.
Toledo's street car service remains entirely suspended as the council refuses a fare increase. The street carmen's union, after a wage demand was rejected, showed no willingness to conciliate. Observers foresee a prolonged shutdown with a potential city takeover of buses under a provisional transportation plan.

Charles LeTour of 342 Boston Avenue was arrested after his wife Hazel LeTour accused him of failing to support her and their seven month old child for three weeks. He claimed he was laid off and later quit work. The couple wed in July 1917. Judge Wilder set bond at 150 dollars and warned of perjury penalties if falsehoods were found.

A warranty deed filed in the town clerk office transfers Locomobile Company of America property to the new Locomobile Company, incorporated in Delaware. The Dec 31 1919 deed values at 1 417 000 with the old firm receiving 3 350 000 in preferred stock plus 25 000 common shares. The new firm assumes first mortgage bonds while a 1 850 000 liability remains with the old firm. First mortgage six percent bonds totaling 2 500 000 are issued through Gasranty Trust Co New York. E S Hare signs. Washington April 3. Picketing of the British embassy by women favoring an Irish republic was called off today by movement leaders led by Mrs Thomas Corliss of New York who said the state department was not responsible. She noted Good Friday picketing was to remind Britain and the state department of Christ’s crucifixion and Ireland’s. She added no statement on future plans. State Dept reported no developments. Secretary Colby said the department would take effective measures to end picketing but specifics were not disclosed. It was understood no action would occur unless women returned to the embassy.
A collective note from the Allies to the Turkish government demands an official disavowal of the nationalist movement. An Exchange Telegraph despatch from Constantinople cites Ada-Bazar east of the city and Ismid as locations in Western Asia Minor occupied by nationalist troops on Tuesday.

Friend and Cole, a leading marine engineer in the region, died this morning at 219 Mountain Grove Street at age 65. He long served as chief engineer of the Steamer Nangateck between this city and New York and was engineer of the Nutmer Fiata I when she sank in 1899. Born in Athens New York, he is survived by wife Mary three sons Edward a patrolman William and Charles with the Ordnance Department two daughters Mrs Charles Denter and Mrs Frank Hn Sherwood Jr and one brother Hiram Cole of Kinderhook New York. He belonged to Ida Lodge N E O P and the Marine Engineers Association.
Providence April 3 health department reports the scarlet fever outbreak at Brown University was caused by infected milk served in a campus restaurant. No new cases in several days and the college, closed March 25, will reopen next Thursday.
Thieves entered two East Side lunch rooms and stole money from gas meters. Carr's lunch room at 7 William Street reported a break in for the second time in two weeks, with $15 taken. Spear's lunch room at 755 East Main Street saw $17.50 stolen. Entry gained by keys in both robberies, part of a recent wave of Lunch room burglaries in Bridgeport.
Middletown New Jersey April 3 R Hd ward Leary of Hohokus shot and killed Mrs Harold Grayson of Paterson while riding in an automobile near Tuxedo. He then drove on with Grayson's 12 year old daughter and drowned himself in a pond near Bear Mountain road. A farmer later notified authorities of the tragedy.

Charles Lucas, colored, of 52 Lexington Avenue, long wanted by police, was captured by detectives yesterday and arraigned in city court. The case was continued to April 6 for further investigation. Lucas, claiming to be a marketter's son, is accused of entering Mrs Gregory's home at 100 Lexington Avenue about a month ago and stealing clothes and a folded watch, with other burglaries suspected.
