Ford approves 4.83 percent pay raise for U S federal workers

President Ford approves a 4.83 percent across the board pay increase for about 2.6 million federal civilian and military employees effective October 1, costing an estimated 2.5 billion. Higher grades rise more, with GS-15 up 7.92 percent, GS-1 from 9,903 to 12,093 dollars. The measure excludes Congress, federal judges, and top bureaucrats earning above 37,800.
