14 Nations Will Weigh Curbs on N Arms Spread

Fairfield Connecticut resident Steven J. Lucas, 48, robbed City National Bank in Bridgeport of about $8,000, then flew to Phoenix saying he liked the weather. FBI recovered $7,400. Lucas jailed awaiting extradition to Connecticut on robbery charges.

Car hits Bethel crossing guard. 81 dies

An 81-year-old Bethel school crossing guard, Alexander Aumluller of 133 Grassy Plain Street, Bethel, died after being struck by a car on Greenwood Avenue. He had served four years as a crossing guard and died two hours later at Danbury Hospital from head injuries as police investigated the crash. The driver’s identity was not available.
