20 Guests Held in New Haven Police Raid
New Haven Sept 28 Sixteen men and four women were arrested by city police in West Haven during a late night liquor raid. Under Prosecuting Attorney John Contrey, officers seized a large quantity of alleged alcohol at a lonely frame building in Thompson Avenue area. Cases will be heard in town court Wednesday night following complaints of weekend parties in the town. All visitors reportedly remained inside as officers entered.

Fire destroys Pequot Steam Laundry in New London

Cars Derail West End Viaduct After Axle Breaks
Two freight cars derailed on the Fairfield to Conler Street viaduct after an axle failure near Flashfield station at 5:40 am.
