Treasury Plans Four Billion Short Term Bond Issue
The Treasury will offer four billion dollars of two year seven month notes on Sept 23 to fund deficit needs and support employment projects. Dated Oct 4 1954 and maturing May 15 1957, the issue yields 138 percent, the lowest in a decade. The move aims to avoid competing with long term lending funds and to back the fall business pickup.
