Award to Greenwich Man Ends Long Pending Suit
The $11,500 suit of Thomas N. Cooke of Greenwich against Hannah Weed of Greenwich, in Superior court since 1914, was decided in favor of Mrs. Weed by Judge Kellogg. Cooke had sought $10,230 in damages from a prior judgment against Edwin Weed, Mrs. Weed’s husband. Deputy Sheriff papers of attachment were served, but Mrs. Weed denied concealed property and the judge found no collusion. Entries for Field Day include Chief Meyers appearing for married men against town youths, with Otto Schmidt coordinating stunts and races for an entertaining program.
