30 Etchings Theft From Metropolitan Museum of Art
New York police report nineteen year old Alexander Rosenfeld pled guilty to grand larceny for stealing fifty etchings from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He sold them for $900 to a Fifth Avenue dealer to fund social entertainments, with most etchings recovered. The court ordered an investigation of the dealer. Rosenfeld claimed plans to become an artist and said he misrepresented the works as saved from Germans in Belgium. Also noted: John Hincks commissioned as second lieutenant after Yale Officers' Training at Camp Jackson. Lloyd George speaks on postwar reconstruction.
