Boston, Sept. 18. Gilmer Clapp a well known Boston business man and director of several companies shot himself in his apartment bathroom. He was 69 and unmarried. A letter to his sister Miss Beatrice Clapp of Waltham explained his plan but gave no motive. Clapp had been president of the American Pneumatic Service Company once linked to a city mail tube contract later discontinued in 1918.
