Coroner to Probe Railroad Fatalities

Phelan will investigate a Saturday night railway accident near Noroton in which two carnival travelers, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis of the Reubin and Cherry carnival, were killed after a water pipe on the day coach contacted an overheated wire. Three others were injured as panic led the Lewises to jump from the train while en route from Hertford to Reading, Pennsylvania, after exhibiting at the Chester Oak fair in Hertford.

Window of Main Street Shop Blown Out in Fire
A large plate glass window at the North End Harness shop on Main Street was blown out last night at around 7, followed by a sheet of flame. The blaze caused about 4009 in damages. Wall misused permit led to coal bin collapse
