Andy Rush Quits Bears After Disagreement Over Promise
Jesse H Rush of Ghanate Kansas mainstay of Bridgeport pitching has quit the Bears and will leave for home in the next days. Officials failed to settle a case pending since last month in Massachusetts. Rush had agreed to loan funds or salary to settle the case and to be loaned the amount, but the club refused. Rush started with the Bears midseason and helped spark a victory surge, including a no hit no run effort and two wins in one day against New Haven. With his departure Bridgeport’s hurling staff is crippled and the team struggles to contend for the Eastern League pennant.
