Tragic Railroad Death Of Milford Schoolboy
Thirteen year old James F. Cammarano was killed instantly when a New York bound express struck him while walking the tracks west of Milford station. His classmate William Morin, 12, tried to pull him away but could not. Both attended Central Grammar school and were near Bostand Manufacturing when the accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. The Morin boy described how he warned his friend as the train approached and tried to reach him as the front of the train tossed the body down a six foot embankment. The medical examiner reported a compound skull fracture and other injuries. The incident is investigated by police.

Bridgeport Red Feather Drive May Extend One Week
Bridgeport Community Chest officials said the 1955 Red Feather campaign may extend beyond today due to lagging contributions. The sixth report session is at noon in the Stratfield hotel with campaign chair Charles H. Abbott urging solicitors to finish strong. As of the fifth report, the drive had 57 percent of its $916,944 goal, with $523,674 raised. Julius H. Lederer of Lederer Inc. will speak at the meeting sponsored by Howland Dry Goods. Lederer is a former Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce leader.
