Lodge Celebrates 15th Birthday at Red Men's Hall

Mornings Star lodges No. 7 Bethlehem celebrated its fifteenth anniversary at Red Men's Hall 1788 Main Street. George Crey organized the lodge during a visit to Uns city twenty five years ago. Membership grew from about twenty to around two hundred nine. Three deaths have occurred in the lodge since its founding. Tulver, a charter member, now serves as an officer. A keynote anniversary take was presented to the lodge’s founder during the celebration.

Marine engineer held on murder count in New London

Marine engineer Predi Post of New London Conn was held without bail after a preliminary hearing in Municipal Court on murder charges in the death of Mrs Sybil Estell Hamilton of Rockland. She was shot near Flanders Corners in North Waldoboro while driving with her companion. Post pleaded not guilty and was moved to Rockland jail to await the October grand jury. Witnesses included Mrs Hamiltons 12 year old daughter and Charles Fhaulder who said Post claimed a stray bullet killed the woman.
