Red Cross efforts accelerate as the drive expands with doubled sidewalk flags and house to house canvassing. Citywide plans aim to finish by the 16th with 300 workers organized under district lieutenants. Posters distribute in prominent centers and on buses and trolleys. Bank tables will be open for donations.
Beginning today the drive runs for its duration with representatives stationed in all civic buildings and major stores to assist residents and answer questions.
Daily Record logs two incidents at Norman and Cottage streets. Clifford Inman eight, of 770 Railroad Avenue, was struck by a car driven by John Pastor twenty four of 230 Mountain Grove Street, sustaining a forehead contusion and treated at Engine House No. 3 before being discharged. John Durice forty five of Clover Street Stratford was struck by a vehicle driven by Alfred Ashmore twenty of 3023 Matin Street Ness Meadow and taken to Emergency Hospital for possible left leg fracture. later moved to St Vincent's Hospital.
The Board of Control rejects boosting Commissioner Albert B. Meredith salary from 9000 to 10000 a year. It notes the chief justice earns 4500 and cannot exceed that figure for the education post. Meredith, who came from New Jersey, recently declined an offer there, and negotiations aimed to partially meet the increase.

Mrs. Anna Wotal ls fifty two 105 Brooks street fainted in the Bridgeport Hydraulic company office and was taken to Bridgeport hospital last night reported unimproved. She fell ill Tuesday afternoon at the company and the city ambulance believed she suffered from apoplexy.
August Fosberg eighty seven of 64 Wool avenue was taken to St Vincent's hospital Tuesday for observation after falling on a rope stretched across the sidewalk near his home Monday He received cuts and bruises and was thought to be badly injured but was discharged yesterday apparently recovered
