Man Injured When Thrown From Truck

Maurice Lyons of 188 Hough Avenue was hurled from a horse driven furniture van at 90 North Avenue near Enclow Innle when an auto driven by A Beshe of Hawleyville crashed into the truck. Lyons suffered a possible skull fracture and was rushed to St Vincent's Hospital in serious condition.

Former federal agent arrested as bootlegger

Bandits Driven Away by Loud Calls for Help

William Kusterer of 126 Summit Avenue was attacked on a highway by masked men who struck him with a lead-filled rod, leaving him cut about the head. He shouted for help and the assailants fled into darkness, neighbors rushing to aid. He had just left a streetcar when the ambush occurred and police were not able to describe the attackers.
