Finklestone Aims To Get Court Here For Small Claims
Representative George No Tinkie stone advocated creating a small claims court for Bridgeport to speed relief for debts under the proposed act. The plan would allow claims under ten dollars to be heard, with relaxed procedures and registered mail service, and the judge to serve as an associate city judge to quicken disposition. Public defenders and free legal aid offices were urged to assist the poor, with a special court for petty disputes to provide rapid relief without attorney cost.
