Wife Says Falsities Led to Divorce in Connecticut Court
Shirley Keeney Helferich of Westport testified in Superior Court yesterday that her husband F Earl Helferich of Hartford repeatedly told falsehoods across many topics, causing humiliating quarrels and health decline. She said he struck her and once tried to choke her. Judge Abraham S. Borden granted an uncontested divorce on the grounds of intolerable cruelty, awarding custody of their daughter to Mrs Helferich and ordering $15 weekly support from Mr Helferich.
