Laborers Attack Cooks in West Haven Camp Riot
Laborers at Camp No 12 along the Rock River reservoir construction in New Fairfield attacked cook John Johnson and an assistant known as Cookie after a food dispute. State police from Ridgefield quelled the riot as chefs received stitches for head and ear wounds and multiple cuts were treated on others. Between 50 and 60 workers resided at the camp, with officers rode in to prevent further clashes.

Westport reports that Michael Cusco star end of the Greens Farms Owls was interrupted on a potential touchdown pass when two policemen entered the field to serve a warrant. He was taken to the barracks, released on bond, and returned to help his team win 13-0 over the Black Rock Pirates. Five men were arrested for breach of peace at a Boston firemen’s dance on November 6 and released on bonds for a hearing in Boston.

William E Evitte seventy of 836 Stratford avenue was crushed to death when a car driven by Miss Bessie G Hall fifty three struck him turning from Waterview avenue onto Stratford. He was knocked against a trolley as he crossed with a companion, the trolley stopped nine or ten cars behind. Hall was arrested charged with manslaughter and released on bond. The accident tied up East Side trolley traffic for about an hour.
