Motorist Involved in Run Down Injures Boy In City
Three persons were injured when cars struck them on Main Street and Jewett Avenue as dusk fell. A motorist fled the scene after hitting Charles Buell, six, of 172 Englewood Avenue, who suffered a broken leg and was taken to Bridgeport hospital. Helen Beach, 44, at 4857 Main Street, sustained a deep scalp wound and shock after collision with Antone Chura of Monroe and was taken to St Vincents hospital. Peter Grubrac, nine, of 626 Stillman Street, was knocked down by Dr. A A Bernstein of 473 State Street and treated at Emergency hospital before going home. Frederick Bupack, 44, of Halloween Boulevard, lies in critical condition after being struck elsewhere in Stamford.

Neighbors found 68 year old William Keagney unconscious after a gas leak at 1 Lesca Court. A 35 cent limit on the quarter meter prevented total poisoning as a lighted jet extinguished and the room filled with gas. Dr A B Margulis treated him and he was taken to St Vincent's Hospital.
