Will Take Year to Conquer Riffians Believes Sheean
Special correspondent Vincent Sheean returns to Tangier after a two month survey of Abd el Krim country. He argues the Riff army can continue the war for at least another year given 40000 fighters including 25000 regulars plus armed Arabs, with arms supply stable and French tactics shifting. He notes Arab defections, morale via religion and propaganda, and a lean logistics system that sustains campaigns with minimal equipment.
