Truman asks Congress for major atomic funds expansion
President Truman urged Congress to approve more than 2.3 billion dollars to speed up atomic weapons work. The money would boost production of fissionable material and weapon fabrication, support an Ohio River Valley plant under consideration, and accelerate development of atomic submarines and other weapons.
