Greenwich Water Co Claims Sole Rights to River
An appeal has been taken by Greenwich Water Co from a Public Utilities decision upholding New Haven R.R. Co claim to take water from Mintus river at Cos Cob for its power plant. Greenwich argues the ruling robs it of drinking, fire protection rights and risks a water famine for the town. The case notes Greenwich’s 1880 incorporation and earlier rights to the river and the dam plan for storage.
