Troops Return From Caribbean After Quick Airlift

Indian plane crash kills 90 in New Delhi disaster

A Convair of Pakistan National Airways crashed after takeoff near New Delhi. Among 20 dead were at least two American victims identified as Mrs. Arthur Rude of San Francisco and Andrew Cairns of Karachi. Twenty survivors required hospital care. most passengers were Indian or Pakistani. The carrier reported 16 of 32 passengers and two of six crew members survived. The fate of one American husband was unknown. Continued on page seventeen.

Ribicoff Lands At Miami Beach For Governors Conference

Connecticut Governor Abraham Ribicoff arrived at Opa-Locka Marine Air Station en route to the 50th annual National Governors Conference in Miami Beach. His plane stopped at Myrtle Beach AFB for refueling and was greeted by Col. Francis Grabowski. Governor Frank G. Clement of Tennessee also arrived, with Miss Barbara Waxler and John R. Ring presenting flowers.
