Milford Fire Board Recommends Rejection of Hose Bids
Milford May 13 The Board of Fire Commissioners voted unanimously to reject all bids for fire hose due to lack of uniform quality among bidders. The council manager act requires accepting the lowest bid but the board says that would mean poorer hose. The board also proposed increasing water capacity of Engines No 4 5 and 6 and reassigning them to rural areas without hydrants. Engine No 1 1932 Maxum was to be repaired and replaced next year by a 1000 gallon pumper. The eligibility list deadline extended to June 30 due to only one application received.
