President Harding issues an executive order changing postmaster appointments from automatic top exam scores to sending the three highest names to the President who will choose. The rule applies to current incumbents as terms expire and may allow reappointment without further exam.
At ocloch the afternoon the judiciary committees of the state legislature will hear appointments for Bridgeport oil court. Names listed for judge and deputy judge include Alexander DeLanes Frank G Wilder Earle Garrich Merritt Swain and Steuber. Indications suggest DeLanes may stay as prosecutor and Garrich may stay as assistant. outcome favors Wilder or Merritt for judge with the other as deputy.
