Trio Sentenced for Waterbury Bank Raid
Three Waterbury teenagers received stiff federal sentences for a $20,000 bank holdup on February 6. John George Wallace 19 drove the getaway car and got 2 years. Michael Berardi 18 and Mersin Gale 18 were each sentenced to 10 years. A fourth juvenile, John Sullivan 16, was detained on delinquency charges and disposed of later. The defendants pleaded guilty March 3 to robbery with force.

A fire and disturbance in a 140 man honor dormitory at Ohio Penitentiary ended without serious damage or injuries. Warden Ralph W.
