Stockholder Group Seeks To Block Big Rail Merger
A group of Northern Pacific stockholders urged a no vote at a meeting in St. Paul as Great Northern stockholders approved the merger with about 80 percent backing. The plan would create Great Northern Pacific & Burlington Lines Inc, uniting NP and GN with related lines under a two-thirds shareholder approval.
