Mines Discovered At Pueblo Grandes Salt Mines Unearthed
Los Angeles March 5 AP New archeological finds at Pueblo Grandes de Nevada reveal ancient salt mining caverns with walls and floors of rock salt and evidence of salt blocks removed about 2000 years ago. The finds include an unusual sandals pair made of deer hide with cotton ties and traces of turquoise work. Governor Scrugham reported on the excavations and noted the salt deposits were central to the site.

Burlington Vermont AP dispatch reports a banner trapping season with high prices and plentiful wildlife. Danbury Voter Registrar James Melvin Dies of Natural Causes
James B. Melvin fifty one former assistant registrar of voters for Danbury died of natural causes per Coroner John J. Phelan finding. After a January quarrel with George T. Johnson in a Danbury hat factory Melvin was struck, then fell ill and died February 20 from heart disease.
