City Extends Parking Sticker Areas in Beardsley Park

Bridgeport officials announce extending the free parking sticker program to Beardsley Park this month to ease weekend overcrowding. School Board Plea for Extra Funds Rejected

Bandits hunt for nearly $1000 in cash and jewelry at the Harold Robbins home as two well dressed men tied up a maid and fled. The robbery occurred at Chestnut Hill Road area while the Robins were away. The damaged home and safer deposits held much of the loss, with Mrs. Robbins’s jewelry singled out. Prisoner Escapes From State Jail Near Bridgeport Area

A prisoner identified as Arthur Davis, 24, blond hair and fair complexion, 5'9" tall and 162 pounds, escaped from the State jail on North Avenue around 8:50 p.m. A wide search was underway last night. Davis wore a white jacket and white trousers. Authorities were notified at 10:45 p.m. details of the escape were not released.

Eastern Area Hit By Thunderstorms Across States

The Associated Press reports broad eastern storms struck Pennsylvania New Jersey and Delaware with hail and heavy rain soaking Alientown. Estes Tells Creditors He Owes 17.5 Million
